"Clearly, Xyra has deeper things on her mind...!"

Eric Brace

The Washington Post

"Be not afraid of the Beautiful Noise that is Xyra...!"

David Nuttycombe

Washington City Paper

"Edith Piaf meets Fairport Convention in a dark alley and gets mugged by Nico."

Lee Michael Demsey

WAMU FM, Smithsonian Folkways

"Xyra’s unique vocal phrasing and melodies, intriguing lyrical
content. and poignant delivery make a statement all their own."

Richard Fuller

WETA FM, and VOA TV

"Xyra was a DJ on Georgetown University's radio station, where she
favored the darker, artier, more theatrical side of rock. Her tastes may
not have shifted since then, but these days Xyra makes her own
music!"

Mark Jenkins

The Washington Post, Slate, NPR and PRI, among others

"Characterized by the evocatively warm vocal talents of Xyra and
the tremendously rich instrumentation of her classically-trained team
of musicians, fans of progressive rock, folk and new age music will
be pleased."

R. W. Elliot

New Musical Discoveries

"Xyra's voice is very dramatic, deep and theatrical. She's been
compared to Marlene Dietrich and I can see why. The music is just as
dramatic as her voice."

Amy Lotsburg

Women in Music

"Xyra exudes a spirituality that is somewhere between here and
there. Lets just say that the lyrical content is always entertaining,
sometimes cryptic and certainly worth a listen! The players, all very
talented but too numerous to mention, back Xyra with a thick sound
full of energy."

Michael Macey

Chesapeake Music Guide, WRNR FM

"Grammy Nominee, Xyra is distinctly bright, yet darkly serious!"

Victor Nazarian

DARK Lines

"Whether backed by stunning musicians, or going solo, soul
searching experiences, and spiritual reflection clearly affect Xyra's
approach to songwriting, today."

Richard Fuller

WHRW FM

"Deeply intriguing and intellectually stimulating - wonderful voice!"

George Campbell

George Campbell Associates, Entertainment Law

"Xyra & Verborgen's riveting musicianship and message redefine the
term Alternative. They are trend-setters, portending an exciting,
auspicious new genre!"

Marco Delmar

Recording Arts Studio, Capitol Records

"Spiritual . . . Emotional . . . Visionary"
Richard Fuller
VOA TV

"Xyra's music denotes a kind of dark Cabaret for a New Millennium"

Robert Goldstein

NPR, Warner Bros Records

"Caught up in the disorder of everyday life, it is sometimes easy to become lost in the confusion. The desire of most is to seek a way out, or at least a safe path by which to be guided. It would appear that Xyra and Verborgen has found that source of guidance and encouragement. They share it through their music . . . The lyrics are poetically written and heavy with intent. The music is good, too. This group cleverly mixes Xyra's unusual musical voice with great instrument pieces . . . I am quite pleased with this group's ability to address painful issues with great kindness and gentleness. They do not water down the import of their message, nor do they excuse their strong position against the atrocities executed against humans, or even the everyday sufferance humankind in general must endure."
