Oz Alomar is a seasoned, virtuoso guitarist with 35 years experience playing in the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
Xyra & Flight of Odin auditioned Oz for the role of lead guitarist in late 2022 and, in early 2023, he joined the band. Oz contributed expert playing to three in-person rehearsals, integrating his “ideas” for new arrangements to songs we had previously written and/or developed. Eventually, artistic differences began to surface… this, combined with the distance Oz had to travel for rehearsals caused a parting of the ways.
Best of luck, Oz!

During his career, Oz has opened for bands such as Stryper, Deliverance, and most recently, Power Glove, besides working solo and as a backing artist for various bands along the way.
Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Oz’s interest in guitar began early, mainly influenced by artists he gravitated toward growing up. Most predominant are Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Richie Blackmore, Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, George Lynch, and John Sykes. OZ spent many hours learning music theory and practicing licks created by these masters, which is evident in the techniques he employs today.
Albeit Oz is extremely versatile and can play just about anything, he has his own, unique style. Once he hears something, he is quick to run with it, offering collaborative, innovative ideas that make new song development easier and more interesting.
