Originally from Long Island, NY, drummer John Wagner
has performed around the Northern VA and Washington DC areas for many years. Drumming in several hard rock, blues, and metal acts, playing covers and originals, his influences include Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Bill Ward (Black Sabbath), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Ian Paice (Deep Purple).
John’s first recording release playing drums was in the early 1990s, on the Heavy Metal EP, Black as the Coals of Hell. He is also featured in the Black Sabbath tribute band, Children of the Grave, and the original hard rock band, Insites – Rockers Behind the Badge in South Florida.
John’s dynamic style grooves around a pounding, single bass drum. His preferred equipment is a 5pc Pearl or Yamaha drum kit, a Ludwig Black Beauty snare, Paiste cymbals, and of course a DW-9000 single, kick pedal.

John possesses the perfect combination of finesse and hard-hitting energy, coupled with an easygoing temperament.
He recorded 8 songs with us for the upcoming album, “Phantom Man”, which has yet to be released after a fiasco at Recording Arts Studio and the sudden and abrupt departure of guitarist, Ragnar Ravensblood.
