Virtuoso, stellar guitarist, Michael Karagiannis brought to the project a genius and intensity, the likes of which Xyra's music had not seen previously. Mike contributed his advanced musicianship and direction to Flight of Odin, from June 2015 through August 2018. He and his son, Spiro and family have since relocated to South Carolina, where Spiro is enrolled in Clemson University.
Born and raised in NYC Mike, AKA ///MK rocked audiences from coast to coast for over four decades and counting.
As for musical influences, Mike says he was born into it, "my mother used to joke about me being an illegitimate child of Jim Morrison’s. I still sometimes wonder if she was kidding. I wanted to be in Kiss since the 1970s as I went to school with a Kiss Lunchbox. Then came the mighty Van Halen, and I was hooked".
He honed his guitar playing skills in the 1980s and 90s, in the streets of L.A., as well as NYC and many stops in between. He has served as both a session guitarist, music director, mixer, and touring artist.
In the late 90s, ///MK relocated to the DMV area, supporting several working acts.
In addition to his guitar pyrotechnics, ///MK has performed and provided direction for vocals, keyboards, sequencing and many other instruments needed to create powerful, intense, authentic, and original music.
