Trust this finds everyone, healthy, happy, and joyful in the springtime!
Andrew and Xyra are pleased to announce the addition of two fine,
professional musicians to our line-up. Contributing his profound artistic
prowess on bass, violin, and mandolin is Vince Calcaterra, MB.
On drums and percussion, we have the versatile and immensely
talented Marc Collier, PhD. Both hold degrees from George Mason
University, and have played a wide variety of genres with various artists,
nationally.
In live performance, we also hope to include Norm Thorne, adding his
familiar percussive expertise, and Eric Ulreich on lead guitar; dates TBA.
Rehearsals for the new CD, "NEVER LOST FOREVER" are in progress.

New ideas for a our lineup of artists...
You have not heard from us recently, as there was not much to say.
However, we do plan to begin performing again, as alluded earlier.
Over all, life has taken us in a different direction. For example,
I went to Kona, Hawaii for Doreen Virtue's Angel Therapy® course,
this June. As a precursor to that, I studied diligently, in preparation.
Andrew is back with classical piano, and we have begun putting sets
together of new tunes, as a duo.
After performing a few times, acoustically, we realized that
this can serve us well. However, I would like to add Norm Thorne
on percussion, and find a cellist who can cover the bass end.
We will let you know the exact performance dates, as we book them.
Expect to hear from us again, after our trip to the UK for family matters,
end July or early August.
PEACE + LOVE + LIGHT + UNDERSTANDING ~
Continued blessings to you ALL!
getting in gear for this year.
Currently, Andrew and I are rehearsing a lot, on our own. With more
than 20 tunes yet to be released, we hope to complete a new CD in '09.
After recording "Saw the Fire" for the Procol Harum Tribute, "Trace of
Feeling", you might suspect that I took a respite from music for a while.
My car accident and subsequent C3 Spinal Fusion in '05 knocked me
out of commission, but mostly it squelched my impetus and zapped
my energy. Recently, however, I awakened form my series of naps
and wrote some upbeat, percussive and conversely plaintive pieces
that invite the return of cello. Perhaps, we can bring back Fred Lieder,
or find a violist ~ John Cale ~ my dream Welshman ~ sorry, Sean.)
About the New Year ~
With President Elect Obama at the helm, be hope there will be a better
chance for Peace in the Middle East, and legislation toward a cleaner
Environment. Without a secure, safe and sustainable Earth, everyone
will be homeless and in danger of extinction.
On a lighter note ... I am very much bedazzled by and enthralled with Doreen Virtue
and her books ~ especially, "Archangels and Ascended Masters". Are you surprised?

Greetings from N i b e r l u n g e n !
Trust this finds all of you in cyberspace well!
NOTICE: My spiritual adviser told me to drop our latest band name, The Banished,
because of the negative connotation. I concur, and so does Andrew. Thus, we will
use only Xyra, until we settle on another title, like "Dark Glass Shining" which seems
to resonate nicely.
An excerpt from the Bio page for The Banished:
"In 2005, then calling themselves The BANISHED, inspired by a song title, the three core
members Xyra, Andrew and Jeff geared toward the future.
The Banished hoped to bring to the control booth and stage, a wealth of previously
unreleased material. Acoustic performance combined with electronics would provide the
perfect backdrop for old and new material, that they thought would extend their fan base.
A new CD was slatted for completion in 2007. However, now this will likely surface at
the end of 2009, simply under the name of ""Xyra". (Band names are under consideration.)
NOTE: The photo posted to the right, by Tatyana Vishnevsky, is a pre-car accident,
live XYRA band shot, showing members: Xyra, Andrew Cann and Jeff Spencer."

However, Andrew and Xyra resumed working up material
they plan presenting on the new CD slatted for release next year.
In addition, Andrew begins work with Anthony Wellington
(of the Victor Wooten Band) toward re-recording an orchestral
version of his solo effort, "Cerebral Vortex - Cerebral Cafe'".
The best is yet to come.
Let your LOVE LIGHT SHINE!
