Andrew Cann
Position: Pianist/Guitarist/Composer
Email: apollomarshtoad@yahoo.com
Andrew Cann's artistic
adeptness spans across most genres. Be they Classical, Celtic, Metal, soft Goth,
Blues or Jazz, Andrew taps into sounds that either touch chords of the heart
or conjure thoughts of distant realms and forbidden mysteries.

Born south of London, as Charles Andrew Alexander Cann,
Andrew began studying classical music at The Watford School
and piano with concert pianist Julianne Skerry in the UK,
at age six.

After moving to the States, Andrew played everything from classical,
blues, and heavy metal - occasionally dabbling in original composition.
In 1994, he composed and produced an experimental orchestral work
called ‘Cerebral Vortex, Cerebral Café' on which he performed
all the instruments.

In the late 1990s, Andrew studied piano at The Levine School Music
in Washington DC under master pianist, Anna Balakerskaia, and classical
guitar in 2000, under virtuoso artist, Eric Ulreich.

To further enhance his skills on electric guitar, Andrew now plays lead
with Xyra + Mystic Angels.

Composing and arranging on piano, MIDI, and guitar, Andrew has
performed original music with Xyra, in such notable venues as the PMC,
Blues Alley, Black Cat, and The State Theater.

Andrew's instrumental compositions and arrangements serve as elegant
and stunning contributions to all Xyra Music endeavors. He appears on
four Xyra demos and every commercial Xyra release.
